What is Mesothelioma?
Mesothelioma takes its name from the mesothelium, a lining of membrane that covers and protects many internal organs in the body. There is a specialized name for the mesothelium of certain organs, such as pleura for the lungs, peritoneum for the abdomen, and the pericardium for the heart.
